Muay Thai Madness: Highlights from Rumble in the Jungle 9 in Puerto Escondido

Escondido Thai Camp recently played host to a spectacular night of Muay Thai action at Rumble in the Jungle 9. This event showcased not only seasoned professionals but also rising talents and thrilling undercard bouts that left the crowd on the edge of their seats.

The night kicked off with an eclectic mix of fights, ranging from a kids’ bout to a showdown between female fighters, along with some first-timers and semi-pros stepping into the ring for the very first time. Each fight brought its own unique energy and excitement, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

In the main event, Salva Marine and Jesus Rivas engaged in a five-round battle of skill and determination. After a back-and-forth exchange, Salva Marine emerged victorious, demonstrating superior technique and resilience.

One of the most anticipated moments of the evening was the Kard Chuek bout between local favorite Fernando Mansilla and the visiting Eder Hernandez from Mexico City. Both fighters embraced the challenge of fighting with ropes for the first time, delivering a thrilling contest that ended with Fernando securing a well-deserved win after three intense rounds.

Next up was the WBC national title bout between Andres Barragán and Cesar Alonzo. The fight had its fair share of drama, with Barragán receiving a point deduction in the first round. However, it was Alonzo’s relentless knee and clinch style that ultimately earned him the victory, capturing the prestigious WBC National title in the process.

The final bout of the evening showcased Freddy May and David Fuentes in an electrifying southpaw versus southpaw showdown. Despite both fighters demonstrating skill and determination, it was Freddy May who emerged victorious, capping off an exhilarating night of action-packed fights.

In between bouts, the crowd was treated to entertaining games, including a blindfolded boxing match featuring UFC star Jasmine Jasudavicius and one of our Only Fans ring girls, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

This historic event marked the first time that the WBC has come to the state of Oaxaca, underscoring the growing popularity of Muay Thai in Mexico.
